1. Checking Award
Information Using 49er Express
N avigate
to
www.uncc.edu ; Click on 49er Express Logo
Login: Username and Password
In the green/beige box, "Click here
for Banner Self-Service "
Click on the Financial Aid link
or the
Financial Aid tab
Click on the My Award Information link
Click on the Award By Year link
Select and submit Aid Year
Click on Terms & Conditions tab
Click the Required Award Terms and Conditions link
which will route you to the UNC Charlotte Office of Student
Financial Aid website
After reading the information, close the window and return to Banner
Self-Service
Review any "Award Messages" listed on this page
Scroll down and click Accept at the bottom of the
page; this is not an award acceptance, but indicates you have read
and understand the information
Click on Accept Award Offer tab
Select Accept, Decline, or
Decide Later for each financial aid offer
2. Stafford Entrance Counseling
http://finaid.uncc.edu and click on "Financial Aid Quick Links"
Click "Complete Loan Counseling"
Scroll down and click "Stafford Loan" (located under "Entrance
Counseling"
Read the instructions and click "Continue"
Begin the Quiz
At the End of the quiz, click "Proceed to Step 6" and enter your
personal information as requested
Read your rights and responsibilities and click "Submit Your
Information"
Review the personal data your entered for accuracy
If all data is correct, click "Finish"; if not make the necessary
changes and click "Update Your Data"
Click "Print this Page" to print your confirmation page then Click
"EXIT"
3. Selecting a Lender
http://finaid.uncc.edu and click on the "Financial Aid Quick
Links"
Click on Preferred Lender List
Compare the lenders and make your choice
Select your lender online using the drop down tab next loan amount
on your award letter
OR
http://finaid.uncc.edu/Forms.html and print the "Lender Request
Form" to select a lender not on our preferred lender list
Submit the form to the Office of Student Financial Aid via fax (704)
687-3132, scan (for emailing), postal mail or hand delivery

Promissory
Note (Master Promissory Note for the Stafford Loan)
Navigate to the website of your chosen lender
Click on link for the Stafford student loan, and proceed to fill out
the application
Most lenders offer the option of signing electronically with your
FAFSA PIN, but if you choose to complete a paper promissory note,
return it to your lender
