The cost of attendance (COA), also known as the price of attendance, is the estimated full and reasonable cost of completing a full year as a full-time student. The cost of attendance incorporates Tuition and Fees, Health Insurance, Books and Supplies, Room and Board, Transportation, and Miscellaneous costs.
Direct Costs
Direct costs are those costs paid directly to UNC Charlotte and billed through your 49er account. Direct costs are different from the estimated cost of attendance. The cost of attendance is an estimate of expenses and includes items not paid directly to the university. Direct costs typically only include tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, and items that you will receive a bill for. Your actual direct costs will vary depending on things such as whether you attend full or part-time, live on or off campus, etc.
Indirect Costs
Indirect costs such as books, off-campus housing, transportation and miscellaneous expenses are not payable to UNC Charlotte, and are estimated to establish your cost of attendance. The estimated amounts are to help you and your family plan for the overall cost of your education.
